Tolkien was a grandson of Ch.Cobcroft Carnarvon and a son of Ch.Lornelane Myth N Magic. His sire is the multiple Best in Show winning Grand Ch. Goldmaid Strike Me Wild. He gained his Australian Championship at 14 months including a 12 point Best of Breed win at The Sporting Spaniels Society Show from the Minor Puppy class. Judge was Mr. D. Johnson (USA).He was a mutiple Best in Group and Runner Up in Group winner at All Breeds Shows as well as being a Class in Show winner. At Specialty Shows Tolkien was a consistent Class in Show winner under Australian and International judges and was Best In Show at the 2006 Oct. Welsh Springer Spaniel Club Show.In 2007 he was 1st.in the Champion Dog Class at Sydney Royal Show against a top winning lineup. He was also Best of Breed at Brisbane and Melbourne Royal Shows.
His progeny include class in group winners at all breeds and specialty shows. His daughter Ch. Goldmaid Its Showtime was BCC at Sydney Royal in 2005 and another daughter Ch. Redheadz Arianrhod Star was BCC and RUBOB at Adelaide Royal in 2008.
A great show dog and a wonderful companion,his untimely death leaves a gap we will never be able to fill.
